PROTEIN ANIMAL FEED

More growth with less methane emissions

High-protein animal feed

High-quality feed increases the yield of livestock and drastically reduces methane emissions

More yield

Rapid weight gain and more milk yield

Less methane

Methane emissions from cattle can be reduced by up to 90 %.

Good for animals and the environment

Animal feed 2.0

The demand for dairy and meat products is increasing worldwide. Even today, 60 percent of the world’s agricultural land is used for the cultivation of animal feed and as grazing land.

Around 87 million dairy and beef cattle are kept in Europe to meet the ever-increasing demand for meat and dairy products. Without supplementary feeding with protein-rich feed, the demand could not even come close to being met.

Cereals are one of the most important sources of protein in Europe. Of the 300 million tons of grain harvested in the EU each year, around 200 million tons end up in the feed troughs of the agricultural industry.

All ruminants emit more or less large quantities of methane during digestion. One cow produces an annual average of 100 kg of methane. Methane (CH4), 30 times more harmful than CO2, is one of the biggest climate killers. The methane emissions of all 87 million EU cattle are equivalent in their climate-damaging effect to the annual CO2 emissions of 150 million cars.

One product - many advantages

What the new generation of protein feed offers:

More yield

In fattening cattle, a daily weight gain of up to 1.5 kg or an increased milk yield of up to 35 kg can be achieved.

Less methane

A special macroalgae is added to the feed. The result is groundbreaking. On average, methane emissions from cattle are reduced by up to 90 %.

Global demand for dairy and meat products is increasing, with 60% of agricultural land being used for animal feed and pasture. Europe has 87 million dairy and beef cattle, and cereals are the main source of protein.

Most of the grain ends up in the troughs for meat and cattle production.

In order to guarantee a secure supply of energy and crude protein, new methods and processes must be sought and found.

High-quality animal feed - What does this have to do with BIOTECH ENERGY?

BIOTECH ENERGY has developed a feed that has the same properties as feed grain.

In a later process, a special macroalgae is added to the feed. The result is groundbreaking, as methane emissions from cattle can be reduced by up to 90 % on average.

This novel feed has a positive influence on yield, intensity, average daily gain, feed conversion and carcass and meat quality in growing cattle. For example, a daily weight gain of up to 1.5 kg or an increased milk yield of up to 35 kg can be achieved in fattening cattle.

BIOTECH ENERGY provides a technology that addresses the global challenges of environmental protection, climate protection and food security in one. The biotech company extracts renewable energy from biotechnological processes, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions. At the same time, it promotes sustainable food production and processing in order to meet the global demand for food.
