BIOTECH ENERGY has developed an innovative technology for a new type of conversion system.
This contributes to climate protection, food security and environmental protection worldwide.
BIOTECH ENERGY TECHNOLOGY®
By utilizing residual products from agriculture
State of the art and highly efficient technology
Large number of industrial and agricultural applications
BIOTECH ENERGY produces protein-based animal feed for ruminants as well as second-generation biofuels and raw materials for biodegradable plastics. All with a climate-neutral footprint.
In a new type of circulation process, protein-containing feed grains can be used more effectively and stored ingredients can be put to better use. The feed produced by BIOTECH ENERGY reduces methane emissions from cattle by up to 90%.
The plant converts the residues from feed conversion into high-quality bioethanol and bio-carbondioxide:
This BIOTECH ENERGY conversion system thus contributes simultaneously and globally to climate protection, food security and environmental protection. No further agricultural land is used at the expense of food production.
In parallel and without the use of additional agricultural land, 2nd generation biofuel and biocarbon dioxide are produced.
This bioethanol can be blended with fuels for petrol and diesel engines and can also be used as a basis for the production of bioplastics and sustainable JET fuel (SAF).
Unlike synthetic fuels (Power to X, BtL, etc.) and other 2nd generation fuels, this bioethanol will always remain competitive with fossil fuels.
The simplified diagram shows that BIOTECH ENERGY produces an improved feed without any loss of quantity
Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions
Use of residual materials from agriculture
Sustainable reuse of residual materials
Cost-effective production of biofuels and animal feed
Support for global environmental goals
Exploding demand for sustainable air fuel
Support from various EU funds
Proprietary and advanced process
A circular economy is one of the cornerstones of Biotech-Energy and brings tangible benefits such as a reduced impact on natural resources, sustainable growth and consumption.
The circular economy is a prerequisite for reducing harmful emissions and achieving climate neutrality in the EU by 2050, as well as for halting biodiversity loss and protecting vital ecosystems. In light of geopolitical tensions and recent disruptions to global trade, it will also help to reduce Europe’s dependence on imported resources.
Residual materials as a resource
The processing of residues for reuse is Biotech-Energy’s top priority, followed by recycling and utilisation for the manufacture of environmentally friendly products. Biotech-Energy is pursuing the goal of increasing resource independence (NN, Romania) by stopping the outflow of valuable materials and introducing the development from “raw materials to end product”.
Overall, the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) is the largest source of EU funding for the circular economy and waste management, followed by the Cohesion Fund (CF), the Just Transition Fund (JTF) and Interreg funds. Investments for the circular economy and waste management are divided into eight categories, with the highest allocations currently going to waste management, followed by environmentally friendly production processes in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Cyprus, Malta and Romania are examples of countries that invest the most in household waste management.
